PC gamers have boasted about their games being moddable for years and there are many reasons both for and against it. Games such and Skyrim and GTA have been huge favourites recently as mods have become more mainstream. There’s everything from improved graphics and added content to strange reskins and freaky stories.

But did you ever get so bored with a game that you thought you’d prefer to be running around as a cat instead of the protagonist or that you’d rather fight Dr. Zoidberg instead of mudcrabs? Fortunately for us, there are nutty modders out there that have provided this sort of mental entertainment.

We’ve gathered our ten favourite and craziest mods that are going to make you want to smash your console up, dust off the PC and start sprinting around your favourite dreamland as something spawned from a nutcase’s nightmares.

We stuck to one mod per game, to keep things interesting.

10. Mini Sniper – Team Fortress

Team Fortress is one of the big favourites for modders, probably because of the amount of years this game has been going on for. This game seems to be immortal as it’s being going strong since 2007 (not mentioning the original).

There’s countless mods for TF2 ranging from crazy costumes to gauntlet type servers that make you run deadly obstacle courses. Our favourite from this game is due to it’s subteltly and imagination.

The best weapon mod we’ve seen, the mini sniper. Why not shoot using a guy that shoots?

9. Pixelmon – Minecraft

Our choice for Minecraft was pretty easy due to the fact that the creators have done something that we’ve all been waiting years for. They created a 3D Pokemon game within Minecraft. Seriously Nintendo, why haven’t you managed to create a decent 3D version of Pokemon yet? And also why am I still waiting to catch Charazard on my iPhone?!

Getting back to mod – you can catch your favourites, even the huge creey pervert Mr Mime, battle them with other players/NPCs and craft your own Pokeballs, everything you’ll expect from Nintendo when they stop dragging their arse around.

8. Male Pregnancy – The Sims

One for the feminazis out there – now there is true equality as you can put your men through the torture of pregnancy. No longer do you need to adopt, men can put a bun in the oven, walk around moaning all day and succumb to crazy cravings.

The Sims is another one of those timeless games that we are thankful for mods. Why sit on the computer ,watching someone watching the computer when you can get yourself pregnant instead?

7. The Legend of the Cage – Majora’s Mask

The Zelda games always appear in the top ten favourite games ever, whether it’s a Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time or Major’a Mask, which we just happen to have found a funny mod for.

This mod reskins everyones faces in Majora’s Mask to Nicholas Cage’s smug mug. Awesome, you might think. Well, it’s actually really, really creepy. What sounds really fun is quite haunting with those big strange eyes staring at you. Try it for yourself and see.

6. Dr. Zoidberg Crabs – Skyrim

The person that came up with this daft mod is an absolute legend. This mod turns all the Mudcrabs in Skyrim into Dr. Zoidbergs. They come complete with his attire and voice as they chase you off across Tamriel. I couldn’t stop laughing enough to kill them, would rather just sneak away and leave them to their madness.

“The frenzy is over. How am I going to get rid of my male jelly now?”

5. Sonic – Dark Souls

This might not seem so impressive, it’s just a guy in a Sonic suit right? Well maybe you are right but when you watch it played here you’ll see just how annoying this guy has become. He’s outrunning his enemies into death traps whilst trolling them with his ridiculous avatar.

The mod gives you this ridiculous look as well as the increased speed.

Who wouldn’t enjoy pissing people off as the famous speedy hedgehog?

4. Falling Whales – GTA 5

GTA 5 has been modded to death since it’s release and for good reason.

This mod pretty much speaks for itself with this video by Merfish. Whales falling from the sky is majestically clumsy and yet somehow amazing. This mod’s sole purpose isn’t for whales to spawn everywhere but when used by a creative mind, you get something as hilarious as this.

There are many, many mods out there for GTA 5 but this rendition was our favourite.

3. Cock Sonic – Sonic Generations

Yes you read that right, Cock Sonic and this will probably be the funniest video you’ll watch today. Watching a massive phallus speeding through this level, pulling skids around corners and performing multiple flips through the air is absolutely hilarious. How could we improve this incredibly dull game? I know, turn Sonic into an enormous cock. Because, why not?

The lunatic that modded this one clearly has issues but it entertains us all the same.

2. Randy Savage Deathclaws – Fallout 4

“By popular demand… Fresh out of retirement…” It’s… Randy Savage Deatclaws!!!

We’ve gone from the silliest mod down to the strangest. Randy… Savage… as a deathclaw?! Who are these genius modders that come up with such amazingly ridiculous ideas? If this doesn’t change your opinion on modding, purely for outright crazy entertainment then nothing will.

Not sure why but I think that these freak me out more than the real thing.

1. Teletubbies – Left4Dead

That’s right, our number 1 is the Teletubbies. I’ve purposely left the video at the bottom of this addition so that your mind can think about the Teletubbies for a second.

You are probably thinking of those 4 nice friendly characters in that lush green field that you remember from your childhood? Tinky Winky, Dipsy, La la and Po chest bumping eachother to children’s music and dancing around whilst shouting ‘Eh Oh”? The baby in the Sun giggling away and watching fun videos on their chubby little bellies?

Well you can turn that charming image inside out because this is the exact opposite. In fact this is our number one because they are terrifying. The fiendish modder that came up with this idea has ruined the nostlgia of children’s TV and haunted our nightmares with these evil things chasing after us in Left4Dead.
