10 Funniest Gamer Cheats You Need to Try
Cheats in games have been a hot topic amongst gamers for years as they debate whether or not they add to a game or that they ruin the challenge. One thing is for certain though, they can create a hell of a lot of fun.
We’ve decided to pick our top ten favourite cheats that don’t alter the game too much, rather they just add their own little bit of fun or quirkiness. We strayed away from cheats that make the game easier such as Doom, God Mode and the infamous Konami Code to give you something that will make you want to pick up the game and try out for yourselves.
Enjoy.
10. Flying Purple Hippo – Age of Mythology
Platform: PC, OSX
Cheat Code: WUV WOO
As the name suggests, this cheat will supply you with a Flying Purple Hippo. This hippo sports a little top hat with wings and can fly above the ground forces and puke all over them before making a hasty retreat and leaving behind a nice rainbow trail.
As daft as it looks, it’s a great ranged unit to have but it’s certainly not the strongest. Great against melee units though and for laughing your head off.
9. Naked Lara? – Tomb Raider 2
Platform: PC, Playstation
Cheat Code: Sidestep Left, Sidestep Right, then Left again, then hold Walk and step Forward, then step Backwards. Next, turn Lara around three times in any direction, then jump forward and while in the air press the ROLL button.
OK, OK so this doesn’t really make Lara strip down into her birthday suit. However if you were a gamer during the the original Tomb Raider then you probably heard the myth of the ‘Naked Lara’ cheat. This myth went around all the school yards and it’s what prompted the creators to add this exploding cheat into the sequel- much to our childhood disappointment.
8. DK Mode – 007 Goldeneye
Platform: N64
Cheat Code: Complete Runway level in less than 5 minutes on Agent.
This cheat transforms all the characters in the game to look like Donkey Kong. They are basically given huge heads with long dangling arms. The cheat was unlocked by most people unintentionally as it’s really easy to complete. It makes head shots a lot easier but added a lot of fun to the multiplayer mode especially. This is probably the most famous cheat in our list.
7. Drunk Mode – GTA V
Platform: PS3, PS4, XB360, XB1, PC
Cheat Code:
Playstation – Triangle, Right, Right, Left, Right, Square, Circle, Left
Xbox- Y, Right, Right, Left, Right, X, B, Left
PC- LIQUOR
This hilarious cheat actually makes the game a lot more difficult. It basically simulates your character having had a rough night on the Sambuccas. Have a go a driving when your perception is all over the place or targeting someone with a weapon. Even walking down the street is a nightmare but it’s still great fun.
6. Turkey Assassin – Assassin’s Creed 3
Platform: PS3, XB360
Cheat Code: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B and A (or circle and X on the PS3 version)
So you definitely need a cheat that puts a little Assassin’s hood onto a turkey. Why, you Might Ask? Because who doesn’t want to see a turkey in an Assassin’s hood? This perfect little Easter Egg can be activated once the player has passed Sequence 6. Simply make your way to the Davenport Homestead and hand around the buildings until you find the turkey, then activate the code.
5. The End – Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Platform: Playstation 2
Cheat Code: Save the game, reset the console and adjust the time settings to a week later.
Although this cheat helps you complete the game without actually having to face the final boss, you’ve probably already done it if you are considering this cheat. What makes this great however is that you are rewarded (or ridiculed) with this funny clip showing that The End has actually died of old age whilst waiting for you to face him.
4. Armless Kombat – Mortal Kombat (9)
Platform: PS3, XB360, PC
Kombat Kode: 911 911 (Xx9, Bx1, Yx1 on XB360)
Have you ever wanted to tie fight your best friend without the use of your arms? No? Well you can anyways with this Kombat Kode for the ninth installment of Mortal Kombat. Try and fight without the ability to punch or grab, using only your legs and certain special abilities.
“Tis but a flesh wound…”
3. Butt Code – Shovel Knight
Platform: PC, Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, OSX, Linux, PS3, PS4, PSV. XBone, Amazon Fire
Cheat Code: WSWWAEAW
So this cheat is ridiculously childish but it makes the inner toddler in all of us let out a little giggle everytime we read the word Butt. What this does is, it takes the recurring nouns throughout the story in the game and replaces them with the word ‘BUTT’. Not exactly game changing but it’s so immature it’s hilarious.
2. Dog Mode – Rise of the Triad
Platform: PC, iOS
Cheat Code: Woof
Everyones heard of GOD mode, so why not turn it around and have a DOG mode? Well, Rise of the Triad did exactly that. You ran run faster, bite harder and perform a ‘Barkblast’ that takes out most of the enemies within your vicinity. Loads of fun to be had with this one.
1. PEW PEW PEW – Timesplitters
Platform: PS2
Cheat Code: Win bronze in Cats Out of the Bag Challenge
The Timesplitters series has far too many awesome cheats to name them all so we’ve shared pdxbla’s video with you with this that showcases several of them. Additional hilarious cheats include gingerbread man enemies, funny hats or matrix type vision.
Our favourite by far though has to be the ‘Human Gun Sounds’ cheat. This replaces the regular gun noises with that of a human trying to badly immitate gun sounds. Try not to laugh as your weapon screams “Pew Pew Pew” when you unload into an enemy.
So there you have it, our favourite cheats. What do you think? Is there any of your favourites that we missed out? Let us know by commenting or by sending in your own content to
