A leak may have potentially revealed a new Dead Rising game. Brace yourself for the title: “Dead Rising 4.”

Rumors of a new installment in the Dead Rising franchise have been circulating for quite a while, but today, photos of what are claimed to be promotional materials and actual snapshots of gameplay appeared on ThisGenGaming.com. News of the leak was quickly picked up and reported on by major gaming outlets such as Polygon and Kotaku, among others. Though the photos show the title to read “Dead Rising 4,” Ekim, a NeoGaf insider, stated in a post on twitter that the game is actually a remake of the first Dead Rising. The new game is apparently set in the same location as the first one, in a snowy Willamette, Colorado. Remake or not, the revelation of a possible new Dead Rising game is certainly good news for fans of the franchise as the series has lied dormant since the 2013 release of Dead Rising 3.

Since DR3, the franchise has been exclusive to Microsoft, and a new addition can only be good news for the Xbox and Windows crowd. Aside from actual hardware specs, the quality of its exclusive releases is what gives a platform its identity in the constant arms race that is the console wars. It’s also good to see something coming out of Capcom that isn’t just a Resident Evil remaster. (I generalize, of course).

Though nothing is yet official, we can most likely expect an official reveal at this year’s E3.
