News of an Injustice 2 May Have Been Leaked
Tis’ the season for leaking games! Fa la la la la, cease and desist!
That’s right! News of an Injustice 2 may have just been leaked, as photos of what are apparently promotional posters have made their way online. The photos appear to show Batman and The Flash facing off with a caption below them that reads: “Every Battle Defines You.” The first to break the news was Polygon, who claimed that a “helpful tipster” sent the photos their way. This rouge tipster is generally believed to be an employee of Game Stop. And if leaked photos weren’t enough to run with, a recent tweet from Ed Boon, creative director for Injustice NetherRealm might have made the news a little more concrete.
A new entry into the franchise would make a lot of sense for Warner Brothers Interactive. Not only is WB Pictures still laying the foundation for an entire DC comics cinematic universe, the books themselves are getting a complete overhaul in the form of “Rebirth,” (an excellent series thus far, I must say.) Geoff Johns, DC’s Chief Creative Officer, is not only in charge of spearheading “Rebirth” in the comics, but he was recently placed in a key role to co-run the DC Cinematic Universe with Warner Brothers. This is certainly a man with a lot on his plate, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see his name somehow attached to a new Injustice game. Maybe that’s just wishful thinking for this Geoff Johns fan.
If true, expect an official announcement for Injustice 2 at this year’s E3.
