Furi Review
Furi Makes Me Furi-ous
Furi is a newly released 3rd person arena based boss battle simulator. Furi features bosses, just bosses nothing else. Every enemy is a boss and these are brutal to play. You’d expect bosses in most games to have 2 or 3 phases, you couldn’t be more wrong. The first boss of Furi is a 7 phase boss (2 phases are tutorial phases where it lets you beat him up) but still 7 phases.
The art style is beautiful, it has a darker looking version of Gigantic’s art style. The design of the bosses are very well done and it complements the art very nicely. The bosses are very unpredictably made in the way that I have no idea what the future bosses are or any idea what they might be, considering I currently have a 3 headed guy with a staff and a woman constrained to a segway with a scythe on hand because… reasons.
You play a super teleporting ninja guy with a gun. With the addition of some exception sword skills, you have 3 lives that when 1 runs out the boss will refill it’s health to full but keep it on it’s current phase but after 3 deaths the boss will go back to the 1st phase and you will get Furi-ous, I won’t apologies.
The bosses themselves are very interestingly made, the first boss is a warden that is holding you in a prison and he has 3 heads. The second boss which is my favourite one so far, also the boss I’m stuck on, is a pink woman that starts on a segway thing with the Pixar lamp on her head that shoots lasers at you. If you can make it past the 2nd phase she breaks out her handcuffs and pulls out a scythe from her segway. Just to note, this boss is locked in a prison, who the hell decided to leave her scythe on the thing she is constrained to?
Furi is for people who enjoy Dark Souls difficulty but can complete Dark Souls easily. This game is really hard yet very satisfying when you beat a phase until the games destroys you and you have to start again and your hopes and dreams are all gone and you lose hope, well not that bad but it’s pretty bad but it’s very fun and I recommend it.
