The glorified hitman John Wick is back! OVERKILL released a new DLC named after the beloved hitman, PAYDAY 2: John Wick Heists. The new DLC includes two new heists, a new sniper rifle, melee weapon, four new masks, along with newly made patterns and materials, along with more achievements to go with the other 551 previous achievements.

OVERKILL has always been good about keeping up with the times, and often releases new DLC for PAYDAY 2, and often find inspirations to add new content for their game. Examples being when they added John Wick as a character just before the first movie was released, or the addition of Jimmy to promote the movie he is associated with, Hardcore Henry. To promote the newest film of the John Wick series, PAYDAY 2 received a DLC on February 9th. OVERKILL had changed the intro to PAYDAY a week in advance to the movie’s release.

The new DLC has thus far been approved by many fans of PAYDAY, however there have been many resignations to the pack, as it has little to do with John Wick, or his movies besides some vague references. One of the new heists known as the “Yacht Heist,” has had serious negative feedback, primarily due to the mission falsely claiming it is an optional stealth mission in the menu, but is actually a stealth only mission. On top of this, the mission, many claim, is too hard and slow as there are too many guards, for the smaller setting that is this Yacht. The other heist, “Brooklyn 10-10” is a purely loud mission that takes place in a confined building as wave after wave of cops assault your location. It has negative reviews as the spawn rate for cops is very high, but other than this, it is labeled as an enjoyable experience for PAYDAY players.

This new DLC has been released solely for the PC version of PAYDAY 2 and does not show any sign of a future release for the console version of the game.
