The latest and last movie in the Resident Evil series has a trailer.
The new trailer for the latest Resident Evil movie has been released and it looks they are sending the heroine, Alice, back to Raccoon City to finish off Umbrella once and for all. After five movies it’s about time! It has the action movie feel that every Resident Evil, both games and movies, has had for a while now. Luckily this is the last movie in series… hopefully. Assuming they don’t decide to milk the series even further.
I will admit that I am part of the problem though, because I have seen every one in theaters. I think a lot of us who are big Resident Evil fans saw the original in theaters and to be honest the first one wasn’t completely terrible. The second one, okay we will give it one more shot. I mean Nemesis is in it and it is in Raccoon City so it should be pretty faithful. Nope. Now this is where most self respecting people jumped off but not me. I’m a trooper and a true Resident Evil fan. Psh, a real fan wouldn’t watch these terrible movies! The third one just went off the rails. After leaving the theater I thought “Well surely that’s the end of that series”. Boy was I wrong. Here comes number four. Somewhere in this time frame I lost all respect for myself and became some kind of masochist because I decided it was a good idea to see this one in theaters too. I walked out of the theater thinking “Okay, surely they are done with it now. I mean this had almost nothing to do with the games outside of the characters.” The fifth Resident Evil movie releases; “Okay let’s get this over with”. Somehow they managed to make this series even worse. At this point i’m just in too deep. It’s liked Paul W.S Anderson is holding my head under water and yelling “DO YOU LIKE MY MOVIES NOW?!” and the only way to come up is to finish his series.
Obviously, I’m going to see this one in theaters too because I hate myself, or maybe I am just a fan and don’t want to admit it to myself. Maybe I really do like these movies. Maybe the story is coherent. Maybe things aren’t happening in this movie just for the sake of action. Wait… Am I having a moment of self realization??? Ehh probably not. Anyway, Resident Evil: The Final chapter releases on January 27th of next year.
