We finally get a brief look at Resident Evil VII’s FPS gameplay. While the trailer doesn’t show any of the action side of the game it does give us look at the atmosphere and horror aspects of the game which look really great. The trailer is from the perspective of  an unknown female character as she tries to escape a ghostly white figure carrying a lantern. Naturally, she runs into an abandoned house, well it might not be completely abandoned. Someone took their time to light several candles through the derelict house which seems to me to be a fire hazard. Who just leaves candles unattended?

Anyway, as she explores the house for a way out, the ghostly figure shows up around every corner until there’s only one way to go… to the room with a set of candles in the middle of it. What happens next? Well because all these candles are unattended she accidentally knocks them over and burns the entire house down and it turns out to be a warning from the national firefighter’s association about leaving candles unattended. Wait… that’s not right. Just watch the trailer and find out what you will be getting into when Resident Evil VII comes out on January 24th of next year.
