Road To Ballhalla Review
Witty, Annoying and Puns, so many Puns
Road to Ballhalla is the upcoming rhythm driven puzzle game by Tiny Build. Set to release 5th of August Road to Ballhalla will destroy your balls. Literally.
Road to Ballhalla is a top down ‘get the ball to the end of the level’ game but it has a humours element with many comments that are funny, insulting and some very bad puns. The game feels like a giant set of jokes but with a well polished game that is relaxing to watch but is also very challenging.
An example of some of the humour and wit that you may face is from the second area set of levels. There is a hole that says Do Not Enter and when you go in it says, “Why would you go into a hole that says do not enter?” and the only option is to press A which says “A) I have no idea.”
The main menu is like a hub world where you enter the levels from. You can collect orange squares which are the in game currency. Collecting these squares enables you to reach milestones that unlock customisation options for your ball; you can buy different trails, colour of trails and ball colour and a super secret thing that the game won’t tell me because it’s a bastard and I love it!
Road to Ballhalla is definitely one of those cute indie games people buy to jump into to and do a few levels. With many customisations in your ball and the, soon to be, new maps shortly after release, the game is going to be one of those endless amounts of content if the community keeps it alive. I feel it will as it does what I look for in games. A simple idea polished to a very high quality. It’s all good when a game comes rammed with different forms of content and all that guff but when a nice cute indie game comes round that is 1 thing done to such high standards, it’s just super fun to play.
In conclusion Road To Ballhalla is definitely a must get if you are a fan of any kind of puzzle games. Ballhalla is funny, challenging, great fun and has made me laugh on multiple occasions whether it’s to make puns, jokes or make me seem like a complete idiot for not realising something so obvious, and the game calling you out for it in it’s sarcastic way.
