Today, the official episode title for the new Star Wars film (the eighth in the Saga movies but actually the ninth, god dammit Rogue One) was revealed by Disney.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you…

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI

So let’s analyse this film based on this poster alone.

1.       The “STAR WARS” is coloured Red, rather than the usual Yellow (and yes I know what you’re thinking “but Jordi, weren’t the titles for Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith red”, to which I reply “yes” but I don’t like to think about those films).  This could allude to this film being Darker.  Dark Side Lightsabre = Red (so, duh).

2.       The official title is “The Last Jedi” which could refer to one of three things.  Either 1: (The most likely) Since “Jedi” is used for both the singular and the plural term for the Intergalactic Wizard Knights, this could simply just be referring to Luke and Rey being the Last two Jedi in the galaxy, OR 2: (the least likely) It is referring to Luke as at the beginning of the film , since Rey still needs training, he would officially be the only Jedi in the galaxy, and therefore the Last, OR 3: (If Disney are evil) there’s a possibility that we will be saying goodbye to yet another fan-favourite character from the original saga (WHO DIDN’T EVEN APPEAR IN THE LAST FILM UNTIL THE END), and so our most favourite Jedi in history will be leaving his student (and newly titled Jedi) Rey to fight the First Order by her lonesome, and therefore leaving her as “The Last Jedi”.

In other Disney property news: both Avengers: Infinity War films have begun their principle filming today.  This is a strange move, filming both films side by side, but could mean that A. There’s so wibbly wobbly timey whimey shit about to go down In the MCU, B. Events in both films actually run parallel together, or C. They only have some actors on Contract for a short amount of time (if the rumours that we will be losing Tony Stark and Steve Rogers are true), and so Marvel want to get the most out of them for both films.
