Top 10 Upcoming Games That Look Awesome
There were A LOT of games that were shown off at E3 last month and a lot of them we didn’t expect. With a month gone by a lot of people have probably made up their mind on what game they want the most, but I’m giving you 10 because why not. Quick warning, I do not own a PS4 so no Sony
exclusives are here but if I owned one Death Stranding would be up on this list.
10 – Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare
I will admit, I was one of the very few people who were surprised by the Infinite Warfare gameplay trailer, full disclosure I love sci-fi games so I am in favour of future settings for FPS games but I do think Call of Duty should’ve took it back in time. Be that as it may this looks insane. The space battles look fun, I may play a Call of Duty campaign and enjoy which hasn’t happened since World at War. The multiplayer will probably be as it’s always is but I am looking forward to this Star Wars campaign and their zombies mode which surprised me to find out their doing but I’m interested in which direction they will take it.
Release Date: 4th November 2016
9 – South Park: The Fractured But Whole
If you are not a South Park fan, then I suggest you just skip this one as The Stick of Truth was loaded with South Park references and jokes that favoured to their fans. As a south park fan I am really looking forward to this, this looks a lot more like a game then a long South Park episode, which I was ok with, but I do really hope there is still a Jew class option.
Release Date: 6th December 2016
8 – Forza Horizons 3
Forza Horizons 3 is the newest in the ever-growing and everlasting racing series that takes the traditional track racing off-road. The game is going to be set in Australia which was when I was sold straight away to be honest. The graphics look stunning as do most Forza games and I am really looking forward to cruising through Australia this September.
Release Date: 27th September 2016
7 – Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
This is what I want from a stealth game, branching paths, a massive amount of lore, non-deadly and deadly routes and so on. This game is set in a time in the universe that is very intriguing. It is set after Human Revolution in which people were jumping on the band wagon of augmentation. This is the opposite, people who are pure and they’re not augmented. This timeline is very interesting as the setting for these types of game are what build up a great foundation, look at Dishonored. I really do look forward to see what Square do with this great franchise.
Release Date: August 23rd 2016
6 – Battlefield 1
Everyone here knows what Battlefield 1 is and I feel like an explanation isn’t needed but I’ll keep it short and sweet. Battlefield 1 is the upcoming FPS from EA made by DICE, it is going to be set in an alternate World War 1 and is going to be favoured by the Call of Duty players who hate the futuristic setting it’s taking. This looks like it’s going to be the most graphically impressive FPS game this year and maybe next year. We are also going to see the featured behemoth vehicles which include giant blimps. Need I say more?
Release Date: October 21st 2016
5 – Final Fantasy XV
Ok so I know this is going to sound ridiculous but one of the reasons why Final Fantasy is on here is for the following image.
That is a picture in-game of the food you can eat when you are camping or if you go into a restraint. We will have food so nice looking that it made me wonder, if they can do that for food then their world must be magnificent. Final Fantasy recently had this turn based but real-time combat but I’m not a fan, I like one or the other not both, but this combat is so much better as it is a lot more fluent and I can’t wait for the final product to be released.
Release Date: 30th September 2016
4 – Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
The Resident Evil franchise has gone downhill since 4 in my opinion. But hurray we’re getting a horror! This looks terrifying. I do love a good horror game. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is going to be set in a mansion which I assume with such a small map there will be tons of lore and back story to follow. We will get the return of heavy inventory management and ammo being rarer than the previous games that the first games had. This does look like it’s going to be very interesting to play and I cannot wait to get it.
Also just wondering, I haven’t looked it up but in Japan Resident Evil is Biohazard. So in japan is this Biohazard 7: Biohazard?
Release Date: 24th January 2016
3 – Watch Dogs 2
I will admit I am skeptical of this after the promises the 1st one didn’t fulfil but this does look like a promising return. Our Protagonist is going to be an interesting individual named Marcus Holloway who already has better character than Aiden Pearce. We will be able to explore the all new sunny San Francisco and does look to improve a lot of the key features and then some. We’re getting drones for the character to take advantage of. Although that seems to be Ubisoft’s theme for this year.
2 – Steep
Steep is my favourite IP of E3, for someone who hates a lot of sports games and haven’t played a good one since Skate 3, I am looking forward to this one. Steep is an open world extreme sports sandbox that takes place across a vast mountain range. We will be able to explore this mountain range with a variety of different sporting equipment, this includes wing suiting, skiing and snowboarding that we know of so far. It does seem that it is heavily based on doing these crazy sports with your friends and even random people, Which I’m ok with.
1 – State Of Decay 2
This was a massive shock to me, especially to see it at Microsoft’s show. State of decay is one of my most favourite games on Xbox 360 and I bought the year one edition on Xbox One instantly. State Of Decay is a Zombie survival game that has a good balance of the realism and game part, it wasn’t hardcore basically. Although it was riddled with bugs. Year one edition fixed those bugs and with the Breakdown mode it was almost endless fun. You have to survive and escape and I do hope that Breakdown is in State Of Decay 2 and I hope it’s all new and improved. This game is going into my “Game I will actually pre-order” list and I hope it is just as good as the 1st one as there aren’t nearly as much good zombie survival games out there that are good and have some good survival mechanics. Also this one is going to have co-op which I’m really looking forward to play.
There are a lot more games that aren’t on this list that easily could’ve been, considering I have 16 games that I want and only wrote about 10. the next 6 months are going to be very good for the games industry.
